On Wednesday, July 5 at 9:30 am, Boston Chapter 5 of the International Catholic Deaf Association – US Section will celebrate Mass in American Sign Language as part of a pilgrimage for the ICDA-US conference held in Boston July 2-7. North American Martyrs Church was chosen for the pilgrimage because one of the North American Martyrs, St. Rene Goupil, was a Deaf Jesuit. The other reason is because it seems that North American Martyrs Church is the only Catholic Church in North America that has a stained-glass window of Jesus’ encounter with a deaf man. All are welcome to the Mass at 9:30 am. A voice interpreter will be provided for those who do not know sign language.
